Abey made a career-defining first appearance on stage as a mini-mummy in a village hall Panto at age 7, before training with Fourth Monkey Theatre Company, graduating in 2015.
They have gone on to perform across the UK, in productions ranging from Shakespeare to New Musicals, in roles that have included playing the drums in 60s GoGo boots, performing over 30 characters in a single show, and most recently fighting someone with a Leek at Derby Theatre.
Abey is a multi-instrumentalist, unable to choose a single instrument their current running total is 9 (Piano, Accordion, Bass, Guitar, Double Bass, Bazouki, Ukulele, Flute, Percussion/Drums – not including currently learning Mandolin and Clarinet), though their favourite is of course the Kazoo. As a composer/writer, Abey’s work has been seen multiple times Off West-End (JULIE: The Musical – Finalist Best New Musical 2023), and on around the UK on Tour (The Elves & The Shoemaker, TIT SWINGERS)
Abey is also Head Loon of Cream-Faced Loons Theatre Company, performing serious (and sometimes very silly) Shakespeare around the UK.
You can usually find Abey running around Manchester with a Kazoo, cup of tea and some kind of crafting supplies
